We spent the Labor Day weekend in Dexter, Maine. Our friend Steve Olmsted's (the guy in red) uncle owns a camp on Lake Wassookeag (pronounced woss-a-keg) and Steve & his wife Haley were kind enough to invite us along. L to R: Steve, his wife Haley & daughter Sadie; Josh, Kate, & Maggie; Jeff, Emily, Asa, & Ethan Posted by Picasa

My (Jeff's) Aunt Pam had all my uncles, their kids, and their kids' kids over for a BBQ this afternoon. Just before we left we stuck all the tired cranky kids in one spot and took pictures of them. I think it will be a few years before we can get them all looking in the same direction. Posted by Picasa

Two of my brothers spent the morning at my house helping me split & stack firewood for the winter. There were a lot of interesting critters living at the bottom of the wood pile. Here's a closeup of some baby mice we found within a nest of grass & sawdust. Posted by Picasa

This blog is about to change

In the past, this blog has contained mostly pictures, with the exception of a eulogy (see the March 2005 archive) that I posted earlier this year. Posts won't come daily, but I have decided to begin using this blog as an outlet for my thoughts on current issues and other things.

You've been forewarned! :)

Here's what it looked like before I started building the wall. Posted by Picasa

Here's a progress update on my stone wall. When I had posted my last picture, the wall was only about at the height of the string you can barely see in this pic. Posted by Picasa

This is the wall that I have started on the other side of our steps. This one is about 50' long, as compared with about 12' long in the post above this one. Posted by Picasa
